Joseph C. Clermont founded Clermont Law Office in 1986, four years after he was admitted to the Massachusetts bar. From a single office in the Merrimack Valley, he built a general practice the way he believed law should be practiced: one client at a time, with patience, plain talk, and his name on the door.
Four decades of practice
Over more than four decades, Joe has handled thousands of matters for Merrimack Valley families and small businesses across family law, personal injury, criminal defense, real estate, and business matters: the full range of what a neighborhood lawyer is called on to do. Many clients have come back across the years, and many have sent their children to him when they needed counsel of their own.
Today Joe has handed the day-to-day work to his son David. He focuses on long-standing client matters and is still in the office a few days a week.
Lowell roots
Joe was raised in Lowell and has lived in the city for most of his life.
Outside the office
Joe is trying his best to spend more time on the pickleball court. The rest of his time goes to his wife, his grandchildren, and the community organizations he has served for decades.
