Steady counsel
for life's biggest
moments.
A neighborhood law office serving Merrimack Valley families with patience, plain talk, and the long view.
We've narrowed our practice on purpose — so the work we do, we do exceptionally well, and the people we help know us by name.
Divorce, separation agreements, support, adoption, and prenuptials — handled with care for the people on both sides of the table, especially the kids.
Buying, selling, refinancing, or untangling a title. We handle the closing so you can focus on moving in.
Wills, trusts, healthcare directives, and probate. The hard conversations, made simple — and the paperwork, made airtight.
MassHealth planning, the five-year lookback, and protecting the family home. The hardest conversations, made simple, and planned early enough to matter.
Small business is personal business. We help local owners form, run, and grow their companies — the boring paperwork that quietly keeps everything else humming.
Disputes that won't resolve themselves — contracts, property, consumer matters. We prepare every case as if it's going to trial, then settle smart when it's the right call.
Hurt because someone else was careless. We take over the insurance company, the paperwork, and the deadlines — on a contingency fee, so there's no fee unless we recover.
Someone has died and the estate has to be settled. We take the filings and the deadlines off the family — and where there is a house to sell, the probate and the closing happen in the same office.
Most matters touch more than one area. Tell us what's going on — we'll help you sort it out, no charge for the first conversation.
No handoffs to junior associates. The person you meet at the consultation is the person who sees your matter through — phone calls, court dates, and all.
Legal work is complicated; talking about it shouldn't be. We explain what's happening, why it matters, and what comes next — in language you can repeat to your spouse over dinner.
For closings, simple estate plans, and most family law matters, you'll know what it costs before we start. No surprises on the invoice.

David joined the practice in 2012 and became a partner in 2022. When he's not in the office, you'll find him coaching youth sports or with his wife and four kids.
Before Clermont Law, David practiced civil litigation and complex products liability in Boston. He is secretary of the West Elementary School PTO in Andover, volunteers with the Merrimack Valley Housing Partnership and the D'Youville Life & Wellness Community, and still plays in the Over Thirty Baseball League out of Lowell.
The office itself is older than his time in it. David's father, Joseph C. Clermont, opened the practice in 1986 and is still in a few days a week on long-standing matters. David handles the day-to-day now, and he is the attorney you will work with on yours.
Free initial consultations. We'll listen first, then lay out a plan in plain language.
